Chancey Elementary Art

12-4-05 Today I was the Sub for Art @ Chancey. What we did was in relation to Symmetry. First we folded a piece of paper in 1/2 then on one side drew in black crayon a figure expressing an emotion - fear, suprise, anger, etc. Then the figure was ironed to transfer the drawing from one side of the paper to the other. This provided an outline that needed to be drawn over & then colored. We had snakes smiling, a flower pot band, lots of flowers, boots smiling, aliens, and the list goes on. The children enjoyed this exercise. Tomorrow we will be doing this at a kindergarden level.
